Fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces broke out in Khartoum on 15 April 2023 over the terms of integrating the RSF into the army. More than twelve million people have been displaced, famine has been confirmed in several areas, and the RSF has been accused of ethnic massacres in Darfur echoing those of twenty years earlier. It is the largest displacement crisis in the world and among the least covered.
