Israel began strikes on 13 June 2025, killing much of Iran's military command and nuclear scientists. On 22 June American B-2s dropped fourteen bunker-busting bombs on Fordow and Natanz, the first direct US strike on Iranian territory. A ceasefire held from 24 June. Damage to the programme was disputed; Iran suspended cooperation with the IAEA, and the unfinished business led directly to the war of 2026.
