Flight 9 on 27 May 2025 was the first to reuse a Super Heavy booster, a central premise of the vehicle's economics. The upper stage reached its planned trajectory but lost attitude control and broke up on re-entry, one of several 2025 failures that pushed the Artemis III landing schedule further out. Starship remains the largest and most powerful rocket ever flown.
