The Boeing 787 crashed into a medical college hostel in Ahmedabad on 12 June 2025, killing 241 of the 242 people aboard and 19 on the ground. The preliminary report found both engine fuel cutoff switches had moved to CUTOFF a second apart just after rotation. It was the first fatal hull loss of a 787 and the deadliest aviation accident in over a decade.
