SpaceX went public on 12 June 2026, valuing the company — Starlink, Starship and the launch business that carries most of the world's payload mass — high enough to make Elon Musk the first person whose net worth exceeded a trillion dollars. It ended two decades in which the company had stayed private specifically to avoid quarterly pressure on long-horizon engineering.
