Held from 6 to 22 February 2026, the Games were shared between Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo with venues as far apart as Bormio and Val di Fiemme, the most dispersed Winter Olympics ever staged. Cortina had last hosted in 1956. Organisers used existing venues for all but one competition site, a deliberate answer to the ruinous costs of recent Games.
