GN-z11
A surprisingly bright galaxy 400 million years in, and a record-holder for most of a decade.

Discovered by Hubble and later confirmed by JWST at redshift 10.6, GN-z11 is about 25 times smaller than the Milky Way but forming stars some twenty times faster. JWST also found signs of an accreting supermassive black hole at its centre and a possible cluster of pristine Population III stars nearby — which would be the first direct sighting of that generation.
