Launched on 15 September 2021, Inspiration4 was the first orbital spaceflight crewed entirely by private citizens, with no professional astronaut aboard. The Crew Dragon flew higher than the International Space Station and returned after three days. It marked the point at which orbital spaceflight stopped being the exclusive business of state astronaut corps, though the price of a seat kept it the business of the very rich.
