Held from 23 July to 2 August 2026 across four venues within thirteen kilometres, Glasgow stepped in after Victoria withdrew in 2023 citing costs, and after Durban had been stripped of the 2022 Games. The programme was cut from nineteen sports to ten. Whether the Commonwealth Games continues at all beyond 2030 remains open.
