On 12 August 2026 the Moon's shadow crossed Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain, giving Spain its first totality in 121 years. Iceland's track ran through cloud-prone country in late summer, and much of the observation was from the Spanish meseta. Spain sees two further total eclipses in 2027 and 2028, a clustering that will not recur for centuries.
