Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, decided 24 June 2022, held that the Constitution confers no right to abortion and returned the question to the states. A draft had leaked in May, the first such leak in the Court's modern history. Within a year around a dozen states had banned abortion almost entirely. It is the only time the Court has withdrawn a previously recognised individual constitutional right.
