The Nuragic civilisation of Sardinia builds thousands of stone towers and produces distinctive bronze figurines. In southern Iberia, Tartessos grows rich on silver and trades with Phoenicians. Along the Atlantic, Cornish and Iberian tin is shipped south into the Mediterranean economy. These regions are peripheral only in the sense that Mediterranean writers barely mention them; materially they are central to how bronze got made.
