Homo floresiensis remains at Liang Bua were originally dated to as recently as 12,000 years ago, which would have made them contemporaries of farming societies elsewhere. Re-excavation and re-dating in 2016 corrected this substantially: the skeletal remains are between about 100,000 and 60,000 years old, and associated tools cease by around 50,000. That is close to the arrival of modern humans in the region, though no direct interaction has been demonstrated.
