Ur brings together cratons now scattered across India, Madagascar and Western Australia. Whether it was a true supercontinent or simply a large continent depends on how much other land existed at the time — a genuinely unsettled question. Fragments of it were incorporated into Kenorland, Columbia, Rodinia and Pangaea in turn, making it one of the longest-lived pieces of continental crust.
